Today we prepped the boys' room for Baby's arrival. I started by laying on B's bed and directing traffic- "I want those baby clothes in the wash pile," "Those books can go," "I want the dresser over there," etc. But I quickly ended up sitting up so I could sort through our many bins of baby paraphernalia. I pulled out blankets and clothes to wash, threw out the items we don't want anymore, and lifted bottles, baby monitors, and other equipment in and out of storage bins. I'm already feeling the workout, and hope it doesn't trigger labor because that just wouldn't be worth it, but I'm glad it's done. My doctor would likely yell at me for being so active today (and so would my mother), but my cervix has been holding stable, even with contractions, and it had to be done so that B could have a room to play in (we had furniture stacked in front of his closets and toy boxes). I didn't over-it and was sitting down the whole time with my feet up, and I have REALLY been taking it easy the last few hours to compensate for the fury of activity this afternoon and won't exert myself like that again until I'm off bed rest in two weeks and one day (it's not like I'm counting or anything). In all honesty though, it felt refreshing to be so productive and get something done.
Before (See all the grey bins in the back of the closet? That's what I went through).
During
After (Can you tell J is exhausted?)
